April Hasson

Program Manager

April’s background in grant writing, governmental program management and large-scale event planning make her a versatile Program Coordinator. She has a degree in political science from Syracuse University and brings a wealth of experience working in the public and nonprofit sectors. April's keen eye for detail, creative approach and methodical organization make her a key resource to JLA's projects.

April is a founding member of Portland's Rose City Rollers roller derby league, and now enjoys volunteering through the collective action group, ninety-nine girlfriends. After several years living in NY, Chicago and Italy, April is happy to reclaim Portland as her permanent home. She resides in the Overlook neighborhood with her husband Elon, daughters Emerald and Aviva, and cats Caper and Prank.
